Inside of the Hall
The Montague Common Hall has a large main hall with small stage and piano, a spacious cloak room and entry way, a rustic kitchen and dining hall, and two bathrooms.
We want the hall to be acessible for all, while also making sure that we can pay for its basic maintenance, insurance and heating. Beginning January 2023, and for the first time in many years, we had to raise our rates to pay for dramatically increasing insurance and heating costs. The cost to rent the hall for a one-time or weekend event are below. If you are interested in a long-term daily, weekly, or monthly rental, contact us to discuss rates.
Spring/Summer: 1 May - 1 October
$30/hr for 1st 6 hours
$200/day (after 6 hours)
Fall/Winter: 2 October - 30 April (heating season)
$40/hr for 1st 6 hours
$275/day (after 6 hours)
Cloakroom-only rates: If renting only the cloakroom, the rate is $20/hour for the first hour, and $10/hour for each additional hour. The seasonal heating surcharge for the cloakroom is $10/event. No minimum rental period. The cloakroom is the only part of the hall that can be rented independently of the rest of the building.
Minimum rental period is 2 hours.
Rentals must include time for setup and cleanup, typically at least 1/2 hour before and after the event.
If you would like to use the PA (sound system for music performances), there is a $20 per event charge.
