MCH Spring 2018 Newsletter

Hello dear friends of the Montague Common Hall!

A concise update of upcoming events: fast, cheap and easy!

MCH Board Meeting
THIS Thursday 6/14, 6:45pm, with special guest at 7:30pm
All are welcome! Come see the mysterious inner workings of our volunteer board as they courageously forge ahead with building and programming improvements on a shoestring budget! Find out if YOU might have what it takes to be a board member, and to help guide the course of this sweet and essential community treasure!

Plus, a special guest star! At 7:30pm, Suzanne LoManto, Director of RiverCulture, will share good news about Montague's newly created Cultural Coordinator position and the ways that she can help promote arts and culture in Montague Center.

Mutton & Mead at Millers Rod and Gun Club
Saturday and Sunday 6/16-17
The Mutton & Mead folks use the Common Hall extensively for auditions, rehearsals, costuming and meetings. They are awesome stewards of the hall, and each year donate a portion of proceeds from their weekend-long wild and wooly rumpus to the hall. Here is a link to the Mutton & Mead website where you can find out more, and buy tickets in advance. You should go! There is jousting! Need I say more?

Emergence Workshop2 with Hannah Fuller-Boswell
Wednesday 6/20 7pm
The last one was focused on stuck projects, and unsolvable puzzles. This one will be an opportunity to explore a part (or parts) of your personality that you are challenged by/curious about, in a safe, welcoming, creative environment. Rooted in Internal Family Systems work, and polyvagal theory, as well as Hannah’s own explorations around the evolutionary benefits of discomfort; the aim of this workshop is to discover what happens at the individual and group levels when we step outside of our habitual ways of thinking and doing. Questions and registration -RSVP: [Hannah[at]curiouslemur.com]

Basket Weaving Workshop with Mary Fraser
Sat/Sun 7/21-22
This one is pretty self-explanatory. You should go! Mary is a multi-talented human with knowledge to share with you!

Montague Open Mic Night
Will take a break for July and August and be back in the Autumn 2018! Thanks to all the great artists and courageous and amazing amateurs who have graced our stage this year! Since the open mic started, you have helped raise over $2000 for the Common Hall. Special thanks to Ben and his gang of helpers who make it happen every month; Open Mic has become a real community sweet-spot.
