Details: Featured Act: For the fourth consecutive year, the featured act of April’s Open Mic at the Montague Common Hall will be a salute to long-time Montague resident and widely-traveled fiddler and dance caller David Kaynor, who passed away in 2021. Fiddlers Van Kaynor and Rebecca Weiss will start by playing traditional-style tunes with double fiddle harmonies and piano backup by Becky Hollingsworth. After a few tunes as a trio, they will be joined on stage by friends and musical associates, carrying on the tradition of David and his belief in the multi-faceted rewards of shared music.

The evening also will be filled by diverse music performed by Valley musicians as is the tradition of the Open Mic series. All types of performers are encouraged to participate in the Open Mic– musicians, poets, singers, dancers, storytellers. Come hear great music and other performances in a comfortable setting. This Open Mic welcomes and appreciates both emerging musicians and seasoned performers. Performers should sign in before 6:15PM. Time slots may be determined at random depending on how many performers sign up. Come prepared to perform for 10-20 minutes, depending on turnout. Voluntary donations.

*Masks encouraged but optional. Unvaccinated attendees are encouraged to wear masks;

*Performers can start signing up at 6:15. Names will be drawn and a random order will be created. Expect to play 2-4 songs (10-15 minutes), depending upon the number of performers.
