Details: Featured Performer: Matthew Thornton is a British/American who plays lots of instruments well, and writes songs that are groovy, unique and compelling. He’s usually noted for his cello which he plays with live-looping and effects pedals, but he also has ample expressive facility on guitar and piano - his voice has been described as “plenty more than adequate”, which is more of an endorsement than it initially sounds. Think Andrew Bird, Radiohead, King Crimson and Nick Drake all fighting for control of some guy with a cello.

The evening also will be filled by diverse music performed by Valley musicians as is the tradition of the Open Mic series. All types of performers are encouraged to participate in the Open Mic– musicians, poets, singers, dancers, storytellers. Come hear great music and other performances in a comfortable setting. This Open Mic welcomes and appreciates both emerging musicians and seasoned performers. Performers should sign in before 6:15PM. Time slots may be determined at random depending on how many performers sign up. Come prepared to perform for 10-20 minutes, depending on turnout. Voluntary donations.

*Masks encouraged but optional. Unvaccinated attendees are encouraged to wear masks;

*Performers can start signing up at 6:15. Names will be drawn and a random order will be created. Expect to play 2-4 songs (10-15 minutes), depending upon the number of performers.
